Fight Night

From HBO:

WCB: WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO VS. SULTAN IBRAGIMOV

An international blend of heavyweight title action, Saturday February 23rd on HBO.
The first heavyweight unification title fight since 1999 highlights a special evening of boxing-oriented programming when World Championship Boxing: Wladimir Klitschko vs. Sultan Ibragimov, Saturday, Feb. 23 (9:30 PM. ET/ 6:30 PM PT) from New York's Madison Square Garden. The fight will be available in HDTV, as well as closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired and presented in Spanish on HBO Latino.

Other HBO playdate: Feb. 24 (9:30 AM)

Wladimir Klitschko (49-3, 44 KOs), from Kiev, Ukraine, has been storming through the heavyweight ranks for the past two years. Now he puts his title on the line against fellow title-holder Sultan Ibragimov (22-0-1, 17 KOs) of Russia. Though Klitschko is a year younger than the 32-year-old Ibragimov, he has more than double the pro experience. Klitschko's last appearance in the Garden was a convincing KO over Calvin Brock in fall 2006, the first time he headlined at the Mecca of boxing.

Both fighters have enjoyed success at the Olympics. At the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Ibragimov captured a silver medal, while Klitschko secured a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta.

Wow

I didn't see all these. The dunk where Dwight Howard banks it off the backboard then dunks it with one hand might be the most badass dunk ever.

You're Welcome, Joey!

Saw this just a minute ago. Look how retarded franky and donnie look.

Go Dale Go

I got a phone call from A. Morgan, a friend of the blog, last night. "Did you see Junior last night? This is his year!" Sadly, I missed those 175 miles of excitement, but I think there's more to NASCAR than meets the eye. We can learn a lot from the NASCAR community, and we could teach them a thing or two as well. NASCAR fans could show us how to transform a overheated radiator into a grill for tailgating, and then we could take the time to teach them how to spell radiator. So, it's give and take. I had my chance to mingle with the necks this week in Daytona, but a new job has forced some unwanted responsibilty on me. I would love to drink Budweiser right along side folks named Ricky, Butch, Tammy, and Misty, but it ain't gonna happen. So to you true NASCAR fans out there, we do have one thing in common, my name also ends in Y. Shake 'n bake.

The Great White Hype

I love black people, especially the ones that play sports. However, I can't help but get excited about a white kid going to play running back at The University of Michigan. Sam McGuffie rushed for over 3,000 yards and 43 tds when he was a junior. He must have come down with a terrible case of Senioritis in his final high school season as he rushed for a mere 1,700 yards and 24 tds. These numbers don't seem white at all. Very Akeeno/Dre'-esk if you ask me. Keep in mind this was all done in the great state of TEXAS!! What a southern boy. Breath.

Top Five: Super Sunday Edition

Can you feel it? Yeah, it itches and burns alittle, but don't worry the Super Bowl is finally here. This is a special edition of Top 5 Friday, on Sunday. I figure if Mike & Mike can work on Sunday, why not me?

Top 5 things to eat on the big day:

5. Ronnie's Cheeseburger, Fries, and Chocolate Shake. Make sure you go through the drive-thru because girls won't like you very much if you smell like chicken fingers.

4. A foot long American Army sub from my ethnic friends at Baldinos

3. Papa's BBQ sandwich and Brunswick stew. Papa's > Carey Hilliards > Stickey Fingers

2. Combo of durkee hot/lemon pepper/texas pete and butter wings from Coach's

1. A whole fried chicken from Johnny Harris. No contest.

Can I get a side of ranch with that? A southern boy's best friend, a ranch fountain:

Randy Mossin It

Let's be real for a second, Randy Moss is pretty good. He's always been dubbed a cancer to any team's locker room, but he and the Patriots have been all smiles. Moss will become a free agent shortly after Super Bowl XLII, and the Robert Kraft Empire might not have enough in the bank to resign the once "troubled" receiver. This may leave the door wide open for some willing and able teams. I think you know where I'm going with this.

Randy has made it clear that it is all about the money. He'll likely get his ring this year with the Pats, and then he'll start looking for that long term deal. The Patriots can't afford to pay a top pick and Mr. Smack My Bitch Up. Enter the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have already expressed interest in Moss. And we all know Moss is interested in those dollar signs. Think about it, Jacksonville is known for their tall (6'4+) receivers, but that's all they are. Reggie Williams decided to emerge as a pretty good target, who can get to the endzone. Ernest Wilfork gets a collective meh, and Matt Jones needs to go play in the Canadian Football League. They are a small market team, but they have a ton of money to spend. Let it be known, I have jumped on the Jacksonville bandwagon.

Look for the Mel Kiper III draft board in the coming weeks.

Fact: Giants are far superior to Patriots. It's widely accepted that Giants are more gifted in hand to hand combat and tactical operations.
Dwight's Pick: Giants over the Pats, 31-27
How they do that? Good question, and we'll have to watch on super Sunday.

The Good, The Bad, And The UNBELIEVABLE

First of all, thanks LSU for beating the Big 10. As most of you can see, CLM was torn between the trophy and his bff CJT. LSU did exactly what they wanted last night, and that was run the ball straight up the middle and then play action. Ohio State killed themselves with stupid penalties.

Let the debate continue. Who is the best team in the NCAA? I'm not quite sure. Michael Adams may be attempting to save face or may he genuinely wants that 8 team playoff (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3186232). There were too many good teams in college football this season. There wasn't a truely great team out there. I think the first step is the plus 1 system. My top 4 teams, going into the bowl games, were as follows: 1. LSU, 2. Georgia, 3. Ohio State, and 4. USC. Georgia would have faced USC in the plus one game. Sounds like something you would be interested in? Me too.

Television ratings for these BSC games weren't very good. That may have something to do with them being televised on FOX, but that cannot be confirmed. Fox needs to stick with NASCAR and the NFL, and maybe a baseball game every now and then. Fortunately for the PAC 10 and Big 10, FOX will carry the BCS games through 2009-10. Yay. I spoke to a personal friend, Jimmy Johnson, or JJ as I like to call him. He told me he was quite concerned about how big Thom Brenneman's body is in comparison to his head.

What did you guys do for New Years? I had a good time, at least I think I did. Wait, it was unbelievable!!! New Orleans is easily top 5. We've had enough time to let the trip sink in a bit, and now for a little recap. I saw 8 boobs, and now know that the strippers are very clean. You can actually witness/partake in their shower time. Donnie is top 5 most southern people I have ever met, and that Kenny Roger's song now comes to mind..."You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, Know when to walk away and know when to run." Taco Bell is not a crowd pleaser and that hurts my feelings. A bit of advice, if a drunk native Atlantian tells you, "Go Dawgs", say it back or else sparks will fly. I said go Dawgs, you just didn't hear me you uncultured fuck. It was apparent that my weapon of choice was the F word. I decided the night before the trip that I would try and say it as much as possible. I said fuck 107 times and Murray said shit 99 times. Crown me!!

NFL Picks Results Finale

A couple of weeks late, but I was trying to build the suspense. The winner is...

1. Donnie, 78-59
2. Joey, 76-62
3. Andrew, 71-68
4. Shane, 61-77
5. Jack, 60-79

Hooray for D! See you next year. Love you, got to go.

Not to worry folks....

I got my black polo today, and I look like a vagina magnet. Enough with the jokes... apparently, Georgia is going to attempt a blackout in another state. Sounds very situational to me. And don't think that I am knockin the blackout thing. It was a huge boost coming into the Auburn game. Last night I was told, "Don't you go to that game and not wear black." Fuck off. I'm kidding, and Shane don't say anything to her. I am concerned that these blackouts may start to lose their luster. We can't do this every other game, guys! Let's face it, we all know quite a few dawg fans that tend to "over do it" from time to time. Who is he talking about? I don't know. See you in New Orleans!!!!!

One More Gift Under The Tree

http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10545311

The NFL decided to have mercy on the poor common folk. They're going to simulcast Saturday's Patriots/Giants game on NBC and CBS. Thanks Roger, I knew you were better than that.
