Fight Night

There's no such thing as Heavyweight Boxing anymore. It's been over 10 years since guys like Lenox Lewis and Holyfield fought, and no that person posing as Evander Holyfield in the mid to late 2000's doesn't count. In my eyes, those were the last of real Heavyweights. Well, thank God for some really good Welterweight fighters.

Manny Pacquiao debuted way back in '95. He's 51-3-2, with his most recent wins over Oscar de la Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatten, and Joshua Clottey. All good fighters, but Margarito is much taller and just as powerful, if not more. That power may be a bit deceptive, you know with those metal inserts he got caught with a while back. Anyways, tonight they'll match up for the vacant Welterweight title. Pacquiao has put on wieght to move up in class, but I'm sure he's still drinking his on urine. Regardless of drinking pee, he's really good, and it should be fun to watch. Of course, this isn't the match up I've been waiting to see -- that one is still years and years away, or maybe never.

I think it will go 12 rounds, or maybe I should say -- I really hope it goes 12 rounds. Shit talking always happens in the days before these kind of fights. You'll always see those guys, the random ones in the "entourage", that end up slap fighting during the weigh-in. Margarito's camp took a little different approach. They decided they would make a video making fun of Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, who has Parkinson's. Real classy. And for that, I hope Pacquiao takes every round to absolutely pummel Margarito.
